Young Investigator Award

Executive Summary
The Young Investigator Award is designed to honor physicians who have distinguished themselves early in their career through outstanding contributions in clinical or basic research related to pediatric infectious diseases. Nomination packets are due April 15, 2024, at 5pm ET. Following review of nominees by the PIDS Nominations and Awards Committee and the PIDS Board of Directors, an awardee will be selected and announced during IDWeek.

Eligibility
Any PIDS member in good standing who completed fellowship training ≤7 years prior to the time of nomination is eligible for the award. For consideration in 2024, nominees must have completed fellowship training no earlier than 2017. Individuals who experienced disruptions in training due to extenuating circumstances are encouraged to contact PIDS staff (pids@idsociety.org) to inquire if accommodations can be considered. Any PIDS member may serve as the primary nominator and individuals may be nominated again if not selected for the award.
