We’re pleased to announce the call for committee volunteers has arrived! PIDS thrives thanks to the time and dedication our members put into committee services and we need you to contribute your expertise, experience and enthusiasm to guarantee our Society reflects the whole membership.

As has always been the case with PIDS, if you wish to volunteer, we will find a way to get you involved. A few notes to keep in mind while you consider which committee, subcommittee, or interest group, as well as which role, is right for you:

• The committee restructure has culled the list of committees to 12 with supporting groups working under a respective main committee’s directive (here is an illustration and the Committees page has been updated accordingly)
• There are now 2 service options on each committee:
  • At-Large Members have attendance requirements that must be met and will be part of votes on actions taken
    • There will be 7-11 At-Large members on a committee
    • Terms of service will be 2-years with a 1-time renewal eligibility
  • Contributors do not have attendance requirements, but their input is just as valued to the actions taken
    • There is no limit to the number of Contributors who may serve a committee
    • Terms of service will be 1-year with no limit to renewal eligibility
• All PIDS members must apply to join any committee unless they have been notified by staff of an appointment to ensure “institutional knowledge” of the committee is maintained

The volunteer application will remain open from April 24 through May 17. Applications will be reviewed immediately following the deadline.
