2026 JPIDS Feigin Apprenticeship Award
The apprenticeship is awarded to a junior faculty member within the first three years of their first faculty appointment in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the time of application. The JPIDS Feigin Apprentice will gain a general understanding of the entire editorial process by serving as a member of the Associate Editorial Team.
The awardee should plan to commit approximately 4 hours per week to Feigin Apprenticeship-related activities, which include:
• Participation in a one hour teleconference in which manuscripts are discussed and reviewed by the Associate Editors, Deputy Editor, and Editor-in-Chief
• Summarizing, reviewing, and presenting assigned manuscripts for discussion during weekly teleconferences
• Other special projects or initiatives as assigned
• Attendance and participation in JPIDS Editorial Board Meetings at IDWeek
Feigin Apprentices will receive a $5,000 stipend, as well as reimbursement for travel expenses (up to $1,000) to attend the Editorial Board meeting at IDWeek, as part of their award.
The deadline for receipt of nomination materials is 5 p.m. ET, Tuesday, September 15, 2026. Candidates should complete the application and upload a combined PDF that includes a CV, brief letter of interest outlining your editorial experience and interest in editorial work, and two letters of recommendation.
